M-squared Finance SAS is an independant consulting boutique, providing a broad range of financial risk management services to corporates, public bodies, funds (Executive & Finance divisions, Audit & Risk, Asset Management departments...).
The founding CEO
Prior to starting M-squared Finance, Vincent Gaillard was CFO of Réseau Ferré de France (the French railway infrastructure manager with a €6bn turnover and €37bn net financial debt). He joined the finance division of RFF in 2000 working in the areas of treasury, liability and risk management, corporate and project finance. After holding various position as trader, head of funding, head of financial market operations, treasury & finance director, he became CFO until 2015. he began his career in 1996 in the treasury department of PetroFina in Dallas and then moved to Fina Investment in Brussels, where he was responsible for asset allocation and fixed income portfolios management for Total Fina insurance companies and pension funds. A graduate from the Burgundy School of Business, he received his MBA in Finance from the Neeley School of Business (Texas Christian University). He teaches Financial Risk Management at Arts et Métiers (MS Global Risk Management).
He has developed a unique expertise in risk management especially on innovative financing (1st 50 year sterling and 20 year euro inflation-linked corporate bond issues in 2002-03), on complex project finance deals (4 PPP closed for €14bn between 2010-12), on strategic financial transactions (M&A, financial communication associated with the railway reform between 2013-15) or on risk-adjusted performance (Value at risk in portfolio management in 1999).
